Process Planner

Job Description

This individual assigned to this role will be responsible for the execution of the following tasks at our client location:

Create assembly floor specifications (AFS) including graphics and text to instruct mechanics how to assemble/install, test and pack turbine engines. Validate engineering definition from drawings, BOMs and specifications prior to releasing AFS to production.

Incorporate needed corrections into AFS plans.

Provide process planning floor coverage to support builds. This includes monitoring build activity, writing work orders and maintaining records for engine and sub assembly builds, test and pack. Work orders may require investigating and confirming engineering definition. 

Responsible for First Engine Configuration Checks (FECC) and Audits to verify production build readiness. 

Provide continuous improvement utilizing Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) tools and lean techniques. Identify opportunities for process improvements and update standard work regularly.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction and develop solutions. 

May assist with various other floor needs including build studies, tooling projects and cell design.   

Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned

Create Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) work instructions in Solumina G8.

Experience/Qualifications:

 Familiarity with aerospace regulatory documents and engines is a plus
 Familiarity reading drawings, GD&T, torque knowledge, Team Center, and Solumina is a plus
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
 Project Management skills as well as MS Office
 US Citizenship required
