Development & Communications Associate

Full-time, Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draft, proof, and coordinate production materials for an $800,000 annual campaign to grow donations from individuals, businesses, faith groups, and community organizations
  • Coordinate a project calendar to build and spread a vibrant media and public presence
  • Maintain up-to-date donor, stakeholder, media and public relations contact lists
  • Coordinate content, design, and distribution of email newsletters for audience segments
  • Staff fundraising events and assist with board fundraising event committees
  • Oversee graphical design of major print, electronic, and social media products
  • Order campaign materials and other professionally printed materials as assigned
  • Proactively update events, program information, dashboards and website content (Word-press)
  • Take initiative to maintain excellent records, target new audience segments, and work collaboratively with co-workers to generate engagement pathways for prospective donors and volunteers
  • Manage vendors and skilled volunteers, including website administrator, social media update guru and event production volunteers

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Valid state issued driver’s license and clean driving record

Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated advanced ability with MS Office applications, donor databases (Salesforce or Blackbaud products preferred), WordPress, Google Analytics, Email service providers (e.g. Mailchimp),
  • Experience in a fundraising environment, including volunteering or college internships (preferred)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizing and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent proofing skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include some evenings for events
  • Ability to follow instructions, or to ask questions when in doubt
  • Appreciation and respect for people in poverty, and those of various ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities
  • Understanding of the value of philanthropy and fundraising in today’s world
