ENGINEER - MANUFACTURING

SUMMARY
The manufacturing engineer role is responsible for all detailed processes in connection with manufacturing, routings, and time studies. A successful candidate will be involved in reviewing new releases for design and manufacturing. The manufacturing engineer will assist with recommendations for new equipment and tooling. They will also provide shop floor support to aid in improving the coordination and collaboration between departments and teams.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Identify and implement process improvements to meet Quality, Safety, and Productivity initiatives.
  2. Collaborate with production and other teams by attending scheduled meetings to ensure timely improvements on processes.
  3. Assist with recommendations for new equipment and tooling.
  4. Write assembly work processes and man assignment procedures
  5. Review and select required special tooling and equipment
  6. Process documentation and control of prototype assembly issues
  7. Assist in plant layout and work station design
 
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Internship experience or 6-plus months related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Lean/Six Sigma understanding or certification is ideal
  • Experience with automotive or heavy-duty equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
