Civil Engineer / Project Manager

Position:        Project Engineer, Division of Structural Restoration


Reports to:    Branch Manager, Division of Structural Restoration
Director of Structural Restoration

Education:    BS, Engineering from accredited college or university

License:         Engineer Intern Certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment
           
Status:          Salaried, Exempt

Job Summary:
The position at the Project Engineer level entails work including the evaluation of existing condition, the design of structural repair and envelope of protection systems, the management of bidding and construction processes, field observation/verification of work in process, and close client and contractor interaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                         

1.               Design construction projects.
2.               Analyze engineering design problems.
3.               Calculate engineering specifications.
4.               Confer with engineering, technical, or manufacturing personnel.
5.               Draw prototypes, plans or maps to scale.
6.               Read blueprints and technical drawings.
7.               Use computer-aided drafting or design software for design, drafting, modeling, or other engineering tasks.
8.               Use intuitive judgment for engineering analyses.
9.               Ensure conformance to building regulations.
10.           Evaluate construction quality.
11.           Inspect project operations or site to determine specification compliance.
12.           Interpret property for construction, condition or design.
13.           Interpret maps for architecture, construction or engineering project.
14.           Recognize construction industry codes or symbols on blueprints.
15.           Understand construction specifications.
16.           Understand engineering data or reports.
17.           Use drafting or mechanical drawing techniques.
18.           Use field notes in technical drawings.
19.           Create mathematical or statistical diagrams or charts.
20.           Draw maps or charts.
21.           Adhere to safety procedures.
22.           Other duties as assigned.
