Technology Operations Intern

SUMMARY
NextGen America is currently seeking a Technology Operations Intern (IT Ops Admin) within the Technology Team to work in our San Francisco office for fall 2018. College seniors or recent graduates with political campaign experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for learning about IT operations in the political field. You will be exposed to general hardware setup and management, basic software troubleshooting, account management, infrastructure, and maintaining IT operations and security standards. In this role, it’s critical to be passionate about providing a great customer experience.
This role will report to the Technology Operations Manager and will participate in day to day IT Operations in a predominantly Mac environment with some Chromebook computers while learning to work with a myriad of hosted business applications: primarily G-Suite (Google Apps) as well as Asana, Slack, Zoom, and Zendesk.
This is a full-time internship, starting immediately, ending on December 31, 2018, with a possibility of extension or promotion. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 40 hours per week. The internship is not benefits or overtime eligible.
HOW YOU WILL BENEFIT

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in aspects of day-to-day IT operations, including procurement handling and hardware distribution and repurposing
  • Support the youth program team on administrative tasks and scheduling 
  • Maintain and organize shared Google Drive folders
  • Update and maintain the inventory of materials across all states
  • Other projects as assigned
WHAT WE REQUIRE
  • Current seniors at accredited universities and colleges or recent college graduates
  • Proficiency in G-Suite (Google Apps) applications and familiarity
  • Passion for taking political action to fight climate change, transition our country to clean energy, and stand up for progressive values and causes
  • Strong desire to obtain new skills and exposure to working in a professional environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Creative and flexible
  • Excellent team player
COMPENSATION
Interns are independent contractors to NextGen America and NextGen America offers a stipend which is commensurate with the number of hours committed to the Internship Program.
