Environmental Engineer
The Environment Business Line of Arcadis is seeking a detail oriented, well organized, dependable Jr. Engineer to support our expanding portfolio in our Indianapolis, IN office. This is a full-time position that requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and desire to be out in the field.
Responsibilities will include a combination of field and office related tasks and will include travel and fieldwork.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight, implementation, operation, maintenance and monitoring of field pilot tests and remedial systems for various remediation technologies
- Soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sample collection
- Site characterization, remedial design, and feasibility studies
- Data compilation, evaluation, and QA/QC
- Work Plan, project specifications, and other report writing
- Assistance with project permitting activities, and cost estimating support
- Coordination and communication with project managers and other office staff Office work: technical report writing, data analysis, and tabulation
- Fieldwork in all weather conditions
- Interpretation and evaluation of field and analytical data to prepare engineering designs, permit applications, and construction-related documents.
- Environmental remediation design tasks, including soil and groundwater remedial system and in-situ technology treatment design and assessments
**This position does require travel and may periodically require extended stays out of town.**
Required Qualifications
- BS in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or related engineering discipline
- Experience using database software, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- This position requires a current valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 40-hour Health & Safety Training
- Previous environmental consulting or related practical experience
- Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- EIT certification
- 3 years experience
