At Vimeo, we love designing and engineering the best video experience on the web. As an engineering intern on the data team, not only will you write code, you’ll use your knowledge of programming to create a more informed product engineering and business environment.
What you’ll do:
- Help create ETL processes for a new product event tracking system
- Process millions of events per second
- Work with product engineers to identify and instrument useful metrics
- Work with our BI team to identify access patterns and write tools for easy data access
- Grow both technically and professionally in an awesome environment with tons of development opportunities to learn and do more
- Load test sub systems in the data pipeline.
What we’re seeking:
- You are familiar with one or more of these technologies: Java, Python, or Go
- You are comfortable with DevOps cloud tools (Amazon, EC2, or Google Cloud) and have some working knowledge of monitoring tools
- You have side projects or viewable public code on Github, Bitbucket, etc.
- You are currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, with an expected graduation date of 2019 or 2020
Bonus points:
- You are well-versed in object-oriented programming (OOP)
- You have some experience with Hadoop or other data engineering or database software
This is a paid internship.
