Description of Shadowing Opportunity:

Description of Shadowing         Provide a general overview of the District Maintenance Department
Opportunities to be exposed to:
·        Field collection of data (RCI)
·        Field inspection (MRP)
·        Crew cost and production (MMS)
·        MMS with RCI (Budget)
·        Showing how FDOT is using technology to innovative the future (E-Maintenance)
·        Emergency response tracking (Hurricane Irma)
·        Special projects
·        Central Office Maintenance Department develops and provides policies, procedures, training, criteria and standards for the maintenance of Florida's bridges and roadways.
·        Our functional areas also includes Contract Management, Motor Carrier Size and Weight, Performance Management, Program Resources, Roadway Operations and Structures Operations.


 Agenda: This agenda is subject to change
* You will spend half of the day in the Maintenance Office
8:30AM       Arrival and introduction to Human Resource Generalist and Administrative Team
9:00AM       Review of FDOT, Internship and hiring Process, Jobs opening
4:00PM Exit Interview
5:00PM        Departure

The FIU Panther Shadows program is a oneday structured program that is designed to connect FIU students and alumni to Host Sites to observe and learn about professional roles related to majors and industries of interest.

The FIU Panther Shadows Hosts (FDOT) do not provide academic credit or monetary compensation; but instead provide an opportunity for participants to observe and network with professional staff.
