Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the position is to perform administrative support functions pertaining to correspondence management, budget, purchasing, human resources, timekeeping, travel, and related administrative areas.

  • Assists in preparing Area operating budget for the fiscal year and monitors budget during the year; procures goods, supplies and services in support of operational requirements; and reconciles credit card transactions; makes travel arrangements and prepares authorizations.
  • Serves as timekeeper in reviewing and verifying time and attendance for employees in the Area; provides guidance to employees on timekeeping and leave regulations; performs leave audits and corrected time and attendance reports.
  • Initiates request for personnel actions and ensures documents are submitted; assists in ensuring employees have position descriptions and performance plans; acclimates new employees to the agency and assists in providing other required employment-related training; and provides administrative guidance to Area personnel on a wide array of administrative matters.
  • Receives and reviews incoming correspondence and reviews outgoing correspondence for conformance with policy, proper grammar, and spelling.
  • Manages and tracks Areas vehicle fleet.
