Engineering and Planning Director - Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Island

Our primary capability areas include Project Management, Construction Management, A&E Design & Planning, and Technical & Consulting Services.

The Engineering and Planning Director will be responsible for planning, controlling, monitoring, and exercising events execution under the program life cycle and supports the Program Manager to ensure satisfactory completion of Task Order project objectives.

The work assignment will be in Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Island.

Key responsibilities: 
  • Implement policies, practices and revisions to existing policies and practices as required to meet Company and contract requirements
  • Manage and direct an Engineering and Planning department responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance and and repair of all building, structures, equipment and utilities in support of a U.S. Military garrison 
  • Manage the execution of engineering and planning projects to ensure the fulfillment of the contract obligation to include cost, timeline and quality
  • Provide leadership for all disciplines performing engineering and planning services public works including, but not limited to, roads and grounds, electrical, power generation, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration, solid and liquid waste disposal, medical incineration, and facility projects
  • Provide senior level oversight and direction for resource allocation and resource management in support of the project’s public works program 
  • Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction by quality on-time performance and best return for their investment
  • Regularly provide project briefings to senior leadership
  • Provide the Project Manager with Subject Matter Expert oversight for contractual situations concerning public works and facilities management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and other practices set forth by upper management directives
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Degree in Engineering; Architecture or Planning preferred
  • RA, PE or AICP, advantage
  • Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment
  • Minimum twelve (12) years of experience in facilities management and utilities operations with at least six (6) years in a managerial role
  • Comprehensive understanding of AR 420-1 U.S. Army Facilities Management and Unified Facilities Criteria, DA PAM 420-6
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Army’s General Funds Enterprise Business Systems (GFEBS)
  • Knowledge of US military operations and contracting support in a contingency environment
  • Working history of successful process development, implementation, and management
  • Excellent management skills of a diverse work force
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
