Junior Structural Engineer
Our technology-driven firm’s engineering department currently has an immediate opening for a Junior Structural Engineer in our Sarasota and Fort Myers offices. The Junior Structural Engineer will include design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. The successful candidate will work with the Senior Engineer, drafting and project managers on design projects. Primary responsibilities include:
- Managing work and process flows
- Designing the structural components of residential structures, producing repair details and letters, and reviewing the design/calculations of Structural Designers and Roof Designers
- Preparing and adhering to schedules, budgets, and cost estimates for structural work
- Perform site visits and meeting with township officials and field personnel
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Stay current with all applicable building codes and continuing education
Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience preferred, but not required
- A Bachelor's degree, required
- AutoCAD knowledge and use required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required
- Mathcad and STAAD experience helpful
