Internship - Electrical Engineer

DEKA offers Internships for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, 12 preferred, and summer internships are to begin no later than June 17, 2018.
The Electrical Engineering Intern at DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH will participate in sustaining engineering related work which will include failure analysis of electrical circuits and alternative component selection. The selected candidate will have chance to experience real life engineering challenges of sustaining a product line and gain hands on experience in analyzing a failure of mixed signal electronics and will be able to report the outcome of the analysis or testing to aid the electrical lead.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Aid in investigation and performing failure analysis
  • Complete additional testing and analysis as needed
  • Documenting results
  • Perform part searches to find suitable alternatives
  • Complete assigned tasks and daily activities in the department
  • Know and follow all policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times
  • Assume responsibility for successful completion of assigned projects and tasks
  • Work proactively, demonstrating a high level of initiative
Requirements:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/institution pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, at least junior level.
  • Experience building electrical circuits
  • Be able to interpret schematics and solder
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc)
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

*A full time student is defined as being enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester at an undergraduate program, or a minimum of 9 credits per semester for a graduate program.
