Lead SIL and Simulation Engineer

Responsibilities: 

Job Duties involve the development of advanced simulation systems for a broad range of vehicle powertrain control systems including Gas, Hybrid, Electric and Autonomous applications:
  • Lead the development, analysis, and debug of plant models and simulation models for vehicle powertrain systems
  • Integrate plant and control models into complete virtual vehicle simulation models
  • Interface with controls and calibration engineers to understand CAE simulation needs and address issues
  • Perform SIL model analysis and tuning to meet plant model fidelity requirements
  • Perform validation and correlation of plant models to external data sources
 
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Automotive engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering or a related field
  • 3 years of experience scripting, debugging, and designing models using Simulink and Matlab
  • 3 years of experience developing plant models with physical modeling tools and connecting controller i/o interfaces
  • 3 years of experience conducting commercial powertrain simulations with SIL and HIL tools including and the use of calibration data acquisition systems
  • 3 years of experience creating test plans and generating reports for automotive systems which include formal written objectives, explanation of methods, boundary diagrams, and conclusions.
  • 3 years of experience developing in C++
  • 2+ years’ experience leading a team based projects to develop controls related simulations, methods, and tools
 



 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong grasp of physics and ability to diagram and analyze physical systems
  • Experience creating and executing test scripts and test automation for controls related design and validation
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrification systems
  • Experience with automotive control systems and strategy feature development
  • Experience and understanding of HIL systems and/or CAN networks
