Field Services Engineer

Field Service Engineers provide technical assistance to customer inquiries by telephone, email, and in person to ensure proper repair, operation, configuration etc. on system hardware/software. Will conduct training in our facilities and at remote locations.  Significant travel will be required, including deployments to the Middle East for 90 days or more. 

Please be aware that this position requires a Secret security clearance and a Security + certification.
  • Provide technical assistance to the customer from the company’s facilities via the telephone help line and email to resolve customer inquiries and complaints. Records customer help requests in a tracking and resolution system.
  • Provide technical assistance at the customer’s location and prepares final reports to customer upon completion of tasking.
  • Maintain proper repair and maintenance of test/training assets as well as installation standards and documentation.
  • Act as primary point of contact between Ultra and customer for troubleshooting and resolution of customer help requests. Leads coordination of different groups within Ultra to resolve customer help requests while continuing to be primary point of contact between Ultra and the customer, following up with customer on a regular basis.
  • Conduct technical training.
  • Maintain multiple databases including; Call logs, Trip reports, Failure reports, etc.
  • Perform quality audits as needed
  • Load and test software on systems prior to shipping.

Required Qualifications
  • Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance
  • Security + or CCNA Certification
  • 2+ years of experience with Tactical Data Links/Command and Control Systems
  • 2+ years of experience with IT networking
  • Experience with Linux and Windows
  • Self-starter
  • Able to work independently with little supervision as well as collaboratively with others
  • Communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to travel domestic and international
