Network Engineer, Intern

Facebook is looking for the next generation of network engineers that want to solve the challenges of large-scale network management and design with a software approach.
This is a full-time, 12 week internship position based in Menlo Park, Denver or Seattle.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol datacenter and backbone networks
  • Define, and develop optimized network monitoring and automation systems
  • Partnered alongside the best engineers in the industry on the coolest stuff around, the code and systems you work on will be in production and used by millions of users all around the world

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with managing computer networks
  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, and ISIS
  • Basic proficiency in UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals
  • Experience coding in at least one language (even if it is not one that Facebook uses)
  • Ability to learn new development languages (Python and C++ are all in heavy use)
  • Ability to pick up new concepts around network design and management
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally
  • Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment in 2019
  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship/co-op
