Project Engineer/Project Management

The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager with the planning and daily execution of the construction project. Candidate assists project management by proactively managing the project budget by tracking expenses, administering owner and subcontractor billings, identifying work not covered by subcontractor’s scope of work and ensuring the success of office support functions related to the overall cost and scheduled completion. Candidate will be responsible to assist the project manager with general correspondence, submittals, purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, project schedule, safety, cost control, quantity tracking, and permitting.
Additional Candidate Responsibilities:
  • Establish procedures for tracking and controlling contract documents
  • Assists with defining the scopes of work, bid package development and obtain subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assists with permit acquisitions and compliance.
  • Assists in the review and coordination of the Quality Control Program.
  • Develops submittal log, participate in subcontractor project orientation meetings, communicate and coordinate submittals and coordination drawings with subcontractors.
  • Responsible for proactive administration of reviewing and processing all submittal data and shop drawings to ensure project schedules are expedited and materials are delivered on time.
  • Serves as the onsite quality manager for assigned trades by verifying subcontractor deliveries meet approved submittal requirements.
  • Attends and participates in meetings with Architect/Engineer and owner representatives.
  • Provides information and assists the Project Manager in the preparation of progress reports/meeting minutes.
  • Distributes proposal change documents to subcontractors/suppliers and assists in collecting pricing and/or prepares change proposal requests for internal pricing review.
  • Builds effective relationships with customers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
Candidate must be a team player with strong organizational skills and be able to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision. Candidate must possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, ever-changing environment, and must be detailed oriented.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Entry level graduate up to 2 years of experience preferred
  • Internships or Co-ops with a construction company desired
  • Strong computer skills are a necessity, including experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and familiarity with construction scheduling software

Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
