Associate Vice Provost, Construction Management

Job Description:

The Associate Provost provides strategic leadership, fiscal control and administration of facilities construction throughout multiple campuses and centers of the College. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities:

•Leads the departments’ construction management team in setting and executing strategy, programs and projects 
•Provides technical leadership in the design of projects in support of energy, safety and environmental programs
•Oversees the overall operation and management of facilities construction programs/projects and other facility related operations
•Oversees the development of timely and accurate scopes of work and determines resource allocations for the delivery of all construction projects within budget and schedule
•Applies technical expertise necessary to interpret plans and specifications on all construction projects to ensure delivery and compliance with applicable codes, laws and College standards

Minimum Requirements: 

•Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited college or university or related field and seven (7) years of related experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited college or university and eleven (11) years of related experience
•Must have a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in construction management
•Must possess and maintain a valid Florida (FL) Driver’s license   
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and experience in effectively applying the principles, problems and methods of project management activities and construction oversight
•Knowledge of the technical application of Florida Administrative Code and/or Department of Education Office of Educational Facilities regulations and guidelines
•Knowledge of facilities management and personnel administration related to new construction, remodeling and renovation and building systems infrastructure
•Skill in project organization and analytical abilities to perform statistical and technical analysis
•Skill in the use of construction acumen as it relates to contracts, costs, budgets, schedules, scope of work, punch list, etc. Ability to negotiate complex contracts as it relates to construction services
•Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and work under limited time contracts and within allocated budget
