ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEERING INTERN

Electrical Engineering Internship:
FAE is interested in students who are ready to jump into the professional world and gain real exposure to the design of facility electrical systems- Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Energy and Sustainability, and Low Voltage industry systems. We look for diverse students with inquisitive minds and the desire to challenge themselves and the enthusiasm to learn and grow.

Program Details:
FAE offers a unique opportunity to utilize your creative and innovative engineering skills. All Interns will be paid and gain invaluable experience alongside seasoned professional engineers to contribute to the success of real ongoing projects. FAE also offers a flexible schedule while encouraging the importance of your educational priorities.

Job Responsibilities include:
• Working as part of a MEP design team to provide electrical design engineering support.
• Participating in project meetings with your Team members and visiting construction job sites.
• Gain familiarity with types of building and facility electrical systems with an assigned mentor.
• Perform calculations to help select the appropriate electrical systems for various projects.
• Design of electrical systems and production of drawings for the project. The use of AutoCAD drafting is a plus.
• Assisting in reviews of the project drawings to gain a better understanding of building systems and applications.
• Become familiar with local building codes and standards.
• Support the development of final construction documents and assembly of the documents.

We only hire the best. A few characteristics we look for include:
• Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
• 2 years of completed coursework preferred but not required.
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, and or REVIT Modeling is a plus).
• Excellent academic standing with a high GPA.
• Strong communication skills.
• Thrive in a team environment.
• Self-motivated, organized.

Our interns will have the opportunity to join FAE Consulting full-time upon graduation based on the success of their intern experiences.
