Engineering Intern

Technical Role / Responsibilities:
 o Design, plan layout, and coordinate power system facilities and equipment installation / upgrade to include the following:
§ Electric power generating stations
§ Transmission substations
§ Distribution substations
§ Electrical distribution power systems & associated equipment
o Support engineering team in design development requirements and creation of schedules and project cost projections.
o Estimates labor, material, construction, and equipment costs with supervision.
o Support preparation of, or prepares drawings and specific type of equipment and materials to be used, in construction and equipment installation.
o Prepare electrical power systems equipment specifications.
o Review vendor / manufacturer information
o Capture and organize electrical data for power system analysis.
§ Prepare power system models
§ Load flow analysis
§ Short circuit analysis
§ Protection coordination / settings review and analysis
§ Arc flash analysis
o Support proposal preparation
o Project report preparation
o Provide support for business development tasks:
§ Briefing preparation and presentation in support of business development efforts.
Communication / Coordination:
 o Responsible for communicating with Consulting Engineer / Principal to maintain a clear / concise understanding of projects and daily business.
o Responsible for coordinating all aspects of production, design, and engineering analysis for assigned projects.
o Required to coordinate project activities with Consulting Engineer / Principal.
Basic Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in electrical power engineering with 0 – 2 years of experience
o Excellent speaking and writing skills
o Strong writing and documentation skills
o Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
o Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
o Must have a valid driver’s license
o Negative drug test results
