STEM Camp Intern (Internship-Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) *Unpaid, college credit only)

PURPOSE: This unpaid internship consists of assisting with the management of various STEM camp programs. At the completion of the internship, the intern will have earned valuable computer program experience, event planning, program development, education, leadership, and youth development experience.
REPORTS TO:STEM & Program Specialist
PRIMARY DUTIES:
·        Build curriculum for STEM camp and supporting logistics.
·        Contact camp community partners as needed to confirm information.
·        Keep sponsors, camp community partner and event registration data up to date.
·        Physically receive, catalog and organize supplies for events.
·        Work with STEM & Program Specialist to procure and organize supplies for events.
·        Assist with multiple STEM camp event communications.
·        Event planning and on-site execution including set up and tear down.
·        Participate in department meetings and committee meetings related to the events.
·        Other duties as assigned by council management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·        Excellent communication and customer service skills.
·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
·        Must be at least 18 years of age.
·        Must be able to commit to a 10 week internship.
·        Must be able to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm). Some late evenings and weekends will be required.
·        Must possess the strength to lift and carry materials weighting at least 50 lbs. without assistance.
·        Must have personal health insurance coverage for illness or injury.
·        Candidates must be seeking academic credit and must have arrangements agreed upon between Girl Scouts of West Central Florida and their school before beginning the internship.
·        All offers are contingent on the successful completion of a thorough background screening, drug screening, and execution of a required hold harmless/liability release agreement.
