Outreach Specialist

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

We are seeking experienced applicants for an outreach specialist who will join the Technology, Innovation and Education team. This position’s primary responsibilities will include the SDL Student Scholar and internship programs, outreach events, tours, metrics for key programs, administrative and logistics support, and other duties as assigned. 

·  B.S. in a science or engineering field

·  Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

·  Must be self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented

·  Must enjoy working with people and be passionate about science and technology

·  Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external customers of all professional levels and in a variety of settings

·  Strong presentation delivery skills to both small and large groups

·  Strong organizational skills, including time management, scheduling, event planning, logistics and tracking

·  Proficient and well-developed computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel

·  Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel on occasion

·  Must be a U.S. citizen

·  Previous experience in a university, government, and/or a not-for-profit environment

·  5 or more years of relevant experience
