Compensation: $3,873-5,722 per month with excellent benefits!

As a project inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring contract compliance on construction projects, assisting in compiling office data, and leading or assisting with portions of the quality assurance program. A day in the life:
  • Coordinate inspection activities on construction projects to meet the needs of the contractor’s work schedule.
  • Assign and review inspection activities of subordinates assigned to projects.
  • Act as a coach, mentor and resource for other inspectors, surveyors and material testers.
  • Provide general oversight to assure contractor and DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) subcontractors meet requirements.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of quality test summary book, supporting documentation notebooks and installation notebooks.
  • Review and recommend any alterations or changes of contract plans and specifications as necessary.
  • Attend various meetings related to the project and interact with stakeholders to facilitate the best possible designs for improvements to Oregon’s transportation system.
  • Initiate, negotiate and draft proposed contract change orders.
  • Work in an office environment at a desk, drafting table or computer center. You also will work in around construction equipment on a daily basis.
  • Occasional travel and exposure to rough terrain, traffic and inclement weather is expected.

What we need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation-related Engineering; 
OR
  • Completion of and passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
