Reliability Engineer

Position Summary: Apply technical skills and ingenuity to the correction of equipment problems causing excessive production downtime and maintenance work (goal: dedicated to the maintenance function with focus on the elimination of repetitive failures). Ensures that maintenance techniques are effective and that equipment is engineered for maximum maintainability. Design and application of new equipment and systems. Responsible for the development and supervision of the PdM (Predictive Maintenance) Technician. Design and develop the Department and Project budgets. Follow and support required safety, environmental, food safety and quality management system policies and procedures

Essential Duties:
·        Identify and correct chronic and costly equipment problems, eliminate repetitive failures and perform root cause failure analysis / perform FMEA’s
·        Design and monitor an effective and economically justified PM/PdM maintenance and lubrication programs
·        New equipment and systems design and application
·        Establish and maintain equipment numbering system for all equipment and ensure maintainability of new installations
·        Establish and maintain equipment numbering system for all equipment and ensure maintainability
·        Train, supervise, and schedule PdM Technician
·        Maintain and analyze equipment data and history records to trend and predict maintenance needs

Supervisory Responsibilities:
1 direct report: PdM Technician

Qualifications:
·        Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical)
·        Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance Technologies (vibration analysis, thermography)
·        Knowledge of Best Maintenance Practices
·        Knowledge of Project Management
·        Knowledge of Process Engineering
·        Advanced computer literacy with Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and AutoCAD
·        Good working knowledge of CMMS systems, particularly SAP

Minimum Requirements:
·        Must be an experienced and innovative problem-solver with project management leadership skills
·        Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees and areas within the Company as well as with vendors, contractors and the general public
·        Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
·        Must possess excellent organization and time management skills
·        Prior supervisory experience preferred
 
Working Conditions: This is a full-time position with typical work days Monday through Friday (occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand). Position has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required. Work is performed in an office/ temperature controlled environment as well as production areas with exposure to dust, bright lights, hot & humid temperatures, loud noises, etc.
