The Position: We are looking for a candidate who will be providing support to a broad spectrum of aviation issues to include, but not limited to acquisition support, system and sea frame certification, new technology introduction, fleet operational interface and test and evaluation activities across all PMOs with PEO LCS. Tasking will also include aviation integration activities ISO PMS 515 in the development/new construction/operational development of the Mod LCS (SSC/FF). The scope of responsibility will remain fluid and depending on the system or issue, the responsibility range between providing technical, and programmatic in-sight and advocacy, to project planning, managing, resourcing and execution.

The Description:


  • Supports the PEO LCS aviation director as the interface with NAVAIR and associated TYCOM, Aviation PEOs and Program Offices. Provide a continuous POC for integration of aviation capabilities on Littoral Combat Ships. Specifically,


1) Identifies risks to successful development and integration of aviation systems for PEO LCS

2) Coordinates resolution/mitigation of aviation issues for PEO LCS programs

3) Coordinates ship integration requirements between Ship PMs and Aviation PMs

4) Coordinates response to validated and emergent aviation system requirements

 

  • As directed, supports the LCS Aviation EDT Lead executing integration leveraging the following aviation functional areas in support of the MH-60 & MQ-8 T/M/S air vehicles:
  • 1) Aircraft Launch and Recovery
  • 2) Aircraft Movement and Parking
  • 3) Aircraft Turnaround and Servicing (incl. Electrical, Pneumatics, Nitrogen) (Oxygen)
  • 4) Aviation Fuel Storage, Movement & Handling
  • 5) Aviation Weapons Storage, Movement & Handling
  • 7) Aircraft Firefighting
  • 8) Aircraft Maintenance (on/off aircraft) (on and off)
  • 9) Aviation Logistics
  • 10) Aviation Detachment Mission Planning and Debrief
  • 11) Aviation Manpower and Training
  • 12) Aviation HSI (incl. safety)
  • 13) Aviation Element of the LCS Combat System

 
The successful candidate will have the education and experience below:

 


  • A bachelor's degree from an institution accredited through a U.S. Department of Education approved agency is highly desired. Master’s degree is preferred. At least ten (10) years of relevant experience is required.

  • Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including US Citizenship, for access to classified information.

  • An Active DoD SECRET clearance is required.


 

The Working Environment: The physical environment requires the employee to work on-site at the government program office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
