Senior Technical Analyst, Switchgear

Location:  Kohler, Wisconsin

The Senior Technical Analyst will provide technical support to switchgear field service technicians, distributorship, direct and internal customers via phone/email as required.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Provide factory-based phone/email support to all Field Service Specialists – Switchgear, distributors, dealers, and direct customers related to Power Systems switchgear product line.
  • Be proficient in PLC and HMI programming and be the liaison between service and engineering support.
  • Develop and maintain associate level and distributor level training courses related to the Switchgear product line.
  • Provide field updates to technicians and distributors as required.
  • Assist in review and creation of commissioning test reports.
  • Provide customer with necessary information and assist them in understanding what is expected in terms of site readiness prior to scheduled site visits.
  • Ensure Field Service Specialists – Switchgear have resources required to complete system commissioning/service visits successfully.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of certification training courses related to the KPS switchgear product line.
  • Assist in creating, updating, and tracking department policies and procedures.
  • Develop site specific test plans based on system sequence of operation and project scope as required.
  • Program parts as required for Aftermarket Parts as orders are received.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of switchgear field service quotations, including but not limited to system upgrades, onsite troubleshooting support, system commissioning, and preventative maintenance.
  • Work on special projects as required.
  • This position may require approximately 10-15% worldwide travel.

Skills/Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or related field is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience in generator paralleling systems or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid understanding of PLC and HMI software as well as communications networking is required.
