Major Gift Officer

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Interim Assistant Vice President of Development and Operations, this position will be responsible for initiating relationships with alumni and friends of Gonzaga University by traveling to meet with potential donors and assess giving capacity, affinity, and inclination. This work is achieved through face-to-face visits (primarily), phone calls, emails and regional outreach events as scheduled. Traveling on average 7 days each month (2-3 days at a time) depending on assigned territory. The Major Gift Officer will participate as a member of the University Advancement division in the overall execution of a comprehensive development program.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree AND; two (2) years successful professional experience in development, communications, sales, or another related field; OR,
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in charitable gifts fundraising and development programs or in a related occupation; OR,
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education
