Junior Network/Systems Engineer

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) seeks a Junior Network/Systems Engineer to provide technical and administrative support to the USAF targeting community through their development of offensive cyber operations tactics, techniques, and procedures.

The successful candidate will provide highly skilled technical assistance with network planning, engineering, architecture, administration, and accreditation. They will develop technical standards to interface applications, identify and evaluate new products, and provide resolution for network and system problems. The candidate will interface with vendors to identify and purchase hardware and software and apply practical design, implementation, and accreditation for the system and network (logical, physical) according to approved standards.

Position Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience with network architecture for LAN and WAN technologies, including design, development, and accreditation
  • 2+ years of experience with Cisco and similar network devices, including wired, wireless, routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and VoIP
  • 2+ years of experience in operating system engineering and administration including Windows Server and Red Hat Linux.
  • Experience with storage infrastructure and virtualization in a VMware vSphere 5 or later environment
  • Experience with DoD STIGs across a wide variety of technologies (Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, Cisco, etc.)
  • IAT 3/IAM 2 (CISSP/CISM/CASP/CEH, and technology specific training/certifications)
  • TS with SCI eligibility or active SCI clearance preferred

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with DoD Information Assurance RMF accreditations
  • Experience with supporting closed or secure environments
  • Experience with network firewalls, including Juniper and Cisco
  • Experience with network security suites, such as HBSS and ACAS
