ANALYST - ENGINEER - RESEARCH ENGINEER - UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEMS

Job Summary:

Develop UAS hardware and software solutions including: architecture, hardware, and software design, hardware and software prototype development, unit and integration testing for UAS applications. Develop algorithms for individual and multi-vehicle behaviors for UAS and/or UAS-UGV teams. Perform all phases of development lifecycle including requirements definition, software/systems design, implementation, testing, and integration. Deploy/integrate hardware and software systems on UAS platforms and perform indoor/outdoor flight testing. Initiate advanced research and development programs, interact with clients, and make technical presentations. Initiate internal research and development concepts, and lead internal research efforts to extend UAS capabilities.

Education/Experience:

Requires a BS degree with 3-5 years experience, or an MS degree with 0-5 years experience, or a PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 0-5 years experience; must have at least a 3.5 GPA. Experience with UAS software development (perception, localization, and/or navigation algorithm development) required. Experience with small UAS platforms and associated sensors, autopilots, and other hardware preferred. Experience with / knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 regulations preferred. UAS flight experience preferred. Software development skills required. C/C++ experience preferred. Robot Operating System (ROS) experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well individually or as a member of a project team is required. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
This position requires passing the test.
