Job Opening – Entry/Associate-Level Water Resources Engineer/Hydrologist


A.D.A. Engineering, Inc. is a multi-disciplined engineering, planning and construction management firm with offices located throughout the State of Florida in key cities such as Saint Petersburg, West Palm Beach, and Doral. We are a small company (40 employees total) by industry standards, but our services are comparable to the larger firms. Our St. Petersburg office specializes in regional/urban modeling and water resources planning, specifically in hydrologic/hydraulic, integrated surface water/groundwater and water quality modeling. ADA is currently looking to hire an entry/associate level engineer/hydrologist to support the St. Petersburg office in various types of projects that require modeling. Other responsibilities of the position entail preparation of complete and accurate stormwater management reports, drainage design and environmental permitting with water management districts and other municipalities. Critical, analytical, and independent thinking is highly valuable in the work we do as we are constantly problem-solving complex issues.

Preferred Education/Qualifications

  • Accredited B.S. in Civil, Agricultural or Environmental Engineering or Hydrology
  • Graduate or undergraduate hydrologic/hydraulic, groundwater, and/or water quality modeling course work is highly preferable
  • Proficient utilizing ESRI ArcGIS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to write computer code is preferable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Active E.I. registration within the field of civil engineering
  • Experience in hydrologic & hydraulic (H&H) modeling software applications such as ICPR, SWMM, etc.

  • Provide hydrologic/hydraulic/surface water-groundwater/water quality modeling support
  • GIS data processing
  • Working with spreadsheets
  • Mathematical and engineering problem solving
  • Proactively follow-up with pending items in a given task and obtain resolutions; and generate reports and/or technical memorandums
