Estimator with experience in Federal Goverment Project

LEGO Construction Co is looking for an estimator with experience in the Federal Market. Responsibilities of this position is to oversee all aspects of Federal estimating including coordinate staff, federal proposals MATOC, SEATOC, JOC, IDIQ, hard bids, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, value engineering, purchasing and subcontractor relations.
 LEGO Construction is a general contractor specialized in healthcare, education, and military projects. We worked for several government agencies local and federal.
 
Background check and drug test will be required. Salary will be determined and based in experience. Full time position salary with benefits including health insurance, dental, 401K, profit sharing, life insurance, paid time off and vacation, paid holidays, short and long disability insurance and others.

Responsibilities:
·      Participate in pre-bid meetings including traveling
·      LEGO is looking for goal oriented Estimator with a sense of direction, diligent, professional, leadership skills and ability to guide a team of professionals toward a common goal. Positive disposition and team-oriented attitude.
·      Excellent and effective communication skills
  • Participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews
·      Estimating Process including hard bids, CM at Risk, GMP’s, MATOC, SEATOC, JOC, and others.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing to establish a value for the work.
  • Understand the full scope of the project through document review, asking questions of the design team and subcontractors
  • Prepare value engineering and risk analysis
  • Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate
  • Prepare cost comparisons/reconcile with previous estimates
  • Reconcile with outside Estimators
  • Manage subcontractor solicitation & selection process
  • Ensure quality control of departments bids and estimates
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating, or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel spread sheets, and Word processing programs
  • Experience with estimating software such as Proest, iSqFt, and On-screen Takeoff.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Sense of urgency and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Able to take ownership of projects/clients managing both up and down
