Electrical Engineering Leadership Program

Program Information 
 
Acuity's Electrical Engineering Leadership Program is designed to identify high potential candidates in electrical engineering. These candidates join the company in full time professional roles that are designed to enhance their early career development. Each participant spends their first 18-24 months of employment rotating every 6 months in various roles, all located in the greater Atlanta area. These roles are largely designed to allow them to have a wide range of exposure to the organization and simultaneously give each part of the organization exposure to the participant. The goal of the leadership program is to expose new grads to a variety of paths within a discipline while preparing for a more permanent position after completing 3 – 4 rotations. This allows participants to build their skill sets and find their niche within the company. Leadership Program start dates will be available for December 2019 and May 2020 graduates. 
 
Rotations and assignments are determined by the need of the business and may include the following: 
 
  • New Product Development 
  • Sustaining/Value Engineering 
  • Manufacturing 
  • Optical Engineering 
  • Light Engine Engineering 
  • Product Development and Support 
  • Technical Support 
  • Field Service 
  • Post Sales 
  • Continuous Improvement Engineering 
  • Model Shop 
  • Labs & Certification  
  • Sourcing 
 
Along with the experience gained within the rotations, recent graduates will participate in activities to enhance connection to the company as a whole and encourage personal growth.  
Some of these activities include: 
 
  • Two-day onboarding event for all participants to ensure integration to the organization and program 
  • A one on one mentorship with an electrical engineering leader for the duration of the program  
  • Quarterly Leadership Program Summits focused on specific aspects of the business 
  • Social and networking events 
  • Lunch and learn opportunities 
  • Performance reviews and report out meetings at the end of each rotation

Qualified applicants for the Electrical Engineering Leadership Program will have: 
 
  • 0 to 2 years of work experience plus the education listed below 
  • EE degrees with preferred experience in Engineering, Product Management, and Lighting - graduation date in December 2019 or May 2020 accepted
