Cloud Security Engineer

Take the project we’re now working on. You will be a key member of a team that is implementing a secure cloud-based development environment. You will work with a multi-disciplinary collaborative team of hardware and software engineers and security specialists to design and implement a secure cloud-based software development and maintenance environment. You will be part of our employee-owned international research and engineering company. ARA is recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences, and you will be on this team.
  • You will use your expertise developing the policies and governance of cloud systems.
  • You will work with cloud architects to ensure that the cloud system adheres to applicable DoD security guidelines.
  • You will assist with developing packages to obtain an Interim Authority to Test (IATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • You will document security procedures and create system security plans.
  • You will be working closely with a collaborative team so your team player personality and excellent written/oral communication skills will be essential.

We are looking for at least a Bachelor of Science or equivalent certification (i.e Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and experience.
AWS certification is highly desired.

Technical requirements for the position are as follows:
  • Proven ability to design and implement secure cloud-based software development environments.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud security architectures and technologies such as Multi-Factor Authentication and compliance enforcement.
  • Familiarity with the use of Amazon Web Services to host government systems.
  • Experience migrating existing development environments to the cloud.
  • Experience obtaining an IATT and ATO in cloud environments.
  • Experience creating system security plans for cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with DoD security policies, procedures and directives.
  • Experience with RMF and Xacta required

Due to the work you’ll perform and interactions with intelligence community and DoD programs you will need to be a US citizen with an active DoD Security Clearance.
