ENGINEER - RESEARCH ENGINEER - SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

Job Summary:

Support the Space Science and Engineering Division with requirements development, tracking and verification for NASA missions, spacecraft, science instruments, avionics. Collaborate with scientists and engineers to drive the development of requirement specifications including interface specifications. Responsible for the development through verification planning and closure phases of the project life cycle.

Education/Experience:

Requires a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree. Must have a 3.0 GPA. Must have 0-5 years of work experience as an engineer with some of experience through courses or an internship in the development of mission and/or science instrument requirements with follow through to verification. Student work in the systems engineering field is acceptable as experience. Experience with the use of the DOORS database or similar requirements database is preferred. Must be extremely organized and detail oriented and able to juggle multiple ongoing Projects and responsibilities. Requires knowledge of following a requirement from development through verification planning and closure phases of the project life cycle. Should be familiar with configuration control of requirements. Experience as a systems engineer or in interfacing across multiple engineering disciplines a plus. Experience working with NASA a plus. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR work in section.
