New Equipment Trainee

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:

As an Otis New Equipment Trainee, you will work with both sales and operations to develop your skills and support the new equipment team to respond to, win, and manage construction projects.
Specific responsibilities for this position includes:

  • Engaging in the safety program
  • Performing and managing technical surveys and estimates
  • Conducting jobsite visits to ensure projects are prepared and on schedule
  • Assisting account managers in estimating proposals and making technical presentations
  • Interface with customer; typically building construction trades, managers and superintendents
  • Negotiate with potential customers
  • Serve as technical consultant to customers
  • Quality assurance to both Otis and the customer
  • Achieve or exceed sales objectives

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:                              
BA/BS degree w/ 4+ years experience in Engineering, Construction Management, or any related field experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be an organized self-starter with excellent time and project management skills
  • Have prior supervisory/management experience leading a technical team
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at multiple levels within the organization as well as external customers
  • Possess an interest and aptitude for working in a building/construction environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous process improvement in a dynamic fast paced environment
  • Possess strong listening, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have the ability to interpret basic financial statements and grasp profit and loss accountability
  • Be results oriented
  • Have a customer focused outlook
  • Be a team player
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic
  • Will demonstrate strength in business judgment and decision making
  • Possess computer skills with full control of Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, and Word
