Supply Chain & Operations – EHS Internship
Southern Glazer’s Operations and Supply Chain function involves management of the physical flow of our products from the original point of manufacturing to the final point of purchase at the retailer. Our structured Supply Chain and Operations internship program is designed to expose students to the wine and spirits beverage distribution system and the role Supply Chain and Operations plays to enable business capabilities. Students will finish the internship having expanded their knowledge across various Supply Chain and Operations functions, specifically EHS.

EHS Intern works with SGWS to detect, prevent and mitigate safety risks. The intern will work with the EHS corporate team to develop and publish a regulatory applicability matrix or guide for each SGWS location. In addition, or as part of the process, they will collect sustainability data to assist corporate communications with gathering appropriate information for a social responsibility publication. Serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and optimization of various EHS companywide initiatives.

May lead or contribute to projects to improve employee, contractor and public safety or to improve the Corporate Safety and Health internal processes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with team members to assist in day-to-day activities of the department
  • Assisting in coordination and preparation of reports, training materials, and programs.
  • Assisting with job hazard and PPE analysis
  • Conducting needs analysis
  • Assist EHS department to plan, direct, and implement \world Class\ safety culture
  • Helps ensure compliance with all with all state, federal and local governmental safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Helps to research, plan and implement safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Assist with recordkeeping, reports and inspections
  • Other special projects as assigned. 
  • Interns will be given an opportunity to shadow SCM/EHS leadership and tour distribution centers.

You will have hands-on experience working on a team directly involved with several EHS/Supply Chain and Operation functions:
  • Warehouse Management
  • Replenishment
  • Inbound Transportation
  • Delivery
  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • Fleet Management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Minimum a junior in college entering senior year 
  • Preferred degree under pursuit – Environmental Health & Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Services, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, MIS, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • Prior EHS or Supply Chain internship experience preferred
