GirlScouts NETX Cookie Program VISTA OneStar

Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNET), located in Dallas, Texas will expand your view as you experience 21st-century Girl Scouting focused on building girls of courage, confidence, and character through hands-on, skill building opportunities. At Girl Scouts, girls learn the skills, have the experiences, and cultivate the relationships that enable them to soar in life. The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas VISTA program will build capacity in areas aligned with Girl Identity, Financial Literacy, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math, and Outdoor Leadership to prepare the next generation of female leaders. GSNET serves 4,000+ low income girls that attend Title 1 schools in partnership with their local Dallas, Tyler, and Longview ISD’s. These community partnerships deliver programming to girls in during and after school weekly sessions. Through the Girl Scout Academy model, the VISTA Members will help expand GSNET’s reach to provide more opportunities to girls in both low-income and Spanish speaking communities by engaging with strategic partners, community organizations and schools to host Girl Scout troops in areas not traditionally served with the Girl Scout program.

Member Duties : TheCookie Program Development VISTA member will serve to strengthen the infrastructure within the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas organization to reach more girls and provide innovative 21st-century programming designed to build female leaders of tomorrow. The VISTA will help develop tools and resources for use in financial literacy 5 skills programming and digital media/cybersecurity/website development programming for girls participating in GSNETX financial literacy programs. The VISTA will build awareness and share program information with volunteers, schools and Girl Scout Programs including low-income and community outreach groups. The VISTA will establish new partnerships and opportunities for the financial literacy program, field trips, special events and community service projects. To ensure sustainable partnerships the VISTA members will develop reporting and tracking systems to document partnership commitments.
