The Position:  We are in search of an Engineer/Scientist III to support the Missile Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT). The candidate will provide engineering support to the IPT Lead and assist them with various actions that support the overall goals of the Program Office through assigned tasks and projects as well as facilitation of meetings and coordination of efforts of one or more program stakeholders. The candidate will provide critical engineering support, guidance, and oversight pertaining to the production, recertification, sustainment and integration of incremental capability upgrades (avionics, warhead, etc.) to the Tomahawk missile program.   The candidate will collect, complete, organize and interpret technical data relating to systems acquisition and product programs, track program/project status and schedules, and apply policies and procedures for engineering processes.

The Description: 
·        Demonstrate knowledge in areas of system engineering and general engineering expertise. 
·        Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, and evaluate contractor proposals for military weapon systems for technical adequacy and level of effort. 
·        Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. 
·        Apply engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration oversight, configuration management, quality assurance oversight, and acquisition and resource management. 
·        Analyze designs, review test plans for technical adequacy, evaluates components, and completed systems adherence to the functional requirements of military weapon systems and associated support systems.
·        Assist in the development of solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact missile system performance and integration areas. 
·        Employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems in order to achieve functional objectives. 
·        Communicate with internal team members across multiple engineering disciplines and government team members and may communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, stakeholders, etc.). 
·        Evaluate the prime contractor’s project plans, schedules, and engineering change proposals.
·        Effectively communicate program status to the onsite government Lead Engineer and PMA280 senior leadership, as required.
 
The successful candidate will have the minimum education and experience below:
 
Education: BS degree in a systems engineering or an engineering/science field.
 
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in an engineering or science field.
 
Travel: Up to 20% travel may be required.
 
Secret Clearance Required
 
The Working Environment:  The physical environment requires the employee to work on-site at the government program office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for the majority of the workday. The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
