Graduate Engineer/Graduate Surveyor Positions Posted!

ODOT's Graduate Engineer Program and Graduate Survey Program are designed for recent college graduates to transition from student to full-time professional. For up to 24 months, participants are provided rotational assignments throughout ODOT engineering and survey disciplines. Participants are recognized as full-time, permanent employees, receiving a salary, a full benefits package, and mentorship from a registered professional. This can provide up to two years qualifying time toward obtaining PE or PLS licensure.

A day in the life:

  • You will embark on an 18 to 24 month rotational program of on-the-job training. You will work with a mentor who will be assigned to you for the duration of the program. The work load will be customized to meet your needs as well as the unique needs of the technical center or region.
  • Rotations will include core teaching in safety, work culture, and technical training. You will also complete a minimum of three rotations through the design, construction, and/or maintenance disciplines. Specific areas may include survey, construction, roadway, maintenance, hydraulics, environmental, bridge, geotechnical, pavements, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), engineering automation and program management.
  • Following successful completion of the 18 to 24 month rotational program, you will transition into your full-time regular assignment.
