Mechanical Engineer

GAI Consultants is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to support our Nuclear and Industrial Group in our Orlando, FL office. Your responsibilities in this position will include designing piping and HVAC systems, performing calculations as well as construction monitoring of mechanical systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct various Mechanical Engineering studies and analysis.
• Develop technical documentation necessary for the implementation of mechanical systems.
• Develop mechanical drawings using Revit and AutoCAD software.
• Perform load calculations calculations; experience with Carrier HAP and Trane Trace software is a plus.
• Perform ventilation calculations; knowledge of ASHRAE 62.
• Preform air side and water pressure drop calculations; experience with Fathom software is a plus.
• Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with clients.
• Create project criteria.
• Develop technical specifications.
• Develop project and equipment schedules.
• Assist with the development of scope of services.
• Assist with the development of construction cost estimates for mechanical projects.
• Give guidance and direction to engineering resources of less experience.
 
Job Qualifications:
• 0-2 years of Mechanical Engineering experience is required; preferably with a focus in the HVAC field.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Prior experience with Revit and AutoCAD
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• EIT/ EI certification is preferred.
• Ability to work and collaborate in a group environment.
• Must be a team player
• Must be detailed oriented.
• Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
 
Physical Requirements:
• Must be a US citizen, without dual citizenship.
• Physically capable of performing field visits to client sites to obtain photos, physical measurements, and view site conditions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle for reimbursable company use.

• Have the ability to lift 50 lbs., able to climb ladders, work at heights over 25 ft. 
• Must be able to wear and work in Personal Protection Equipment including fall protection.
