Summer 2020 Internship - Cyber Security Engineering - Strategic Military Space - Logan, UT 

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades.

SDL’s internship program provides an exciting opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to get involved with state-of-the art technologies in space-, airborne-, and ground-based systems. With the support of engineers and mentors, interns are able to work on professional-level assignments that complement their academic studies. The program also includes training workshops, networking opportunities, and a variety of summer events and activities.

The Strategic and Military Space Division is looking for one or two exceptional student cyber security engineers for a summer internship. Interns will be paid a competitive monthly stipend and will be tasked with varying duties based on current projects, needed support, and the development phase. Work would focus on developing and accessing security designs for spacecraft, ground segments, and/or RF-based communications links. There are opportunities to research and design secured solutions for embedded systems, radio links, cloud applications, operations centers (networks, systems, and software) and how resilience can be added to space systems.  

Requirements
·Experience or understanding of the technical principles of cybersecurity in at least one of the following areas: embedded software, software, RF and communications systems, APIs, networks, distributed systems, artificial intelligence/machine learning
·Experience with team collaborative tools
·Able to work hands on cyber analysis tools such as Wireshark, Kali Linux, IDA Pro
·Work well independently with minimum supervision
·Able to work closely in a team with students and professionals and willing to voice thoughts and ideas
·Strong initiative and able to see the job through
·Good communication skills, both written and verbal
·Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education
EE, CompE, CS, Systems Engineering
Junior, senior, or graduate student
3.0 GPA minimum is required
