Engineering Instructors (Residential Summer Employment)

The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth has exciting summer employment opportunities for graduate and advanced undergraduate students and alumni interested in teaching engineering.

As a CTY instructor, you lead a small class of 12-18 bright students through a rigorous and interactive three-week course with the support of a teaching assistant. Our classes have generous lab budgets. In addition to a competitive salary, instructors receive housing and meals on campus.
 
Our engineering courses are:
  • The Physics of Engineering (5th-6th graders)
  • Principles of Engineering Design (7th-10th graders)
  • Investigations in Engineering (7th-10th graders)
  • Electrical Engineering (7th-10th graders)
  
Desired Qualifications
Successful instructor candidates have significant lead teaching experience and relevant degrees. Experience working with young people is strongly preferred.

Terms of Employment
  • Salary ranges from $2,400 to $3,000 depending upon years of experience and education.
  • Housing and meals are provided at residential sites.
  • Employees provide their own transportation to domestic sites.
