Structural Engineer (P.E.)

Overview

We need a Structural Engineer with design experience involving conventional wood framing, masonry and concrete to support new and remedial construction efforts nationwide. Projects typically involve single family dwellings, multi-family dwellings, commercial office, retail, and church buildings. Responsibilities

In this position you will apply your technical knowledge to design solutions for the complex and unique problems of our clients. Projects will include a mix of residential, multi-family, and commercial projects, with an emphasis on repair of damage from fire, wind and impacts, as well as adaptive reuse of older buildings, and enhancements to existing facilities to accommodate changes in use and implementation of equipment and machinery. You must be able to manage several projects simultaneously and be detail orientated. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required. Advanced degree desired.
  • Professional Engineering license, (P.E.) required.
  • 5-10 years of structural design experience.
  • Hands on AutoCAD proficiency required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is a must.
  • Must be outgoing and able to interact with staff, clients, and home/business owners.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • You must possess excellent verbal, communication skills and technical writing abilities.
  • For required site visits, the physical ability to perform all of the following functions is required: climbing ladders, walking on roofs, entering and working in confined spaces; working outdoors in hot or cold weather, lifting up to 50 pounds, using necessary safety equipment.
