Construction Management Intern

Job purpose:

 

Cooltrace is looking for an intern who is interested in pursuing a career in Construction Management. This program is designed to provide real-world exposure to planning, financial/processes oversight and scheduling activities on a variety of construction projects in every stage of the development cycle. In addition to gaining knowledge from daily tasks and projects, interns will also be given opportunities throughout the term to develop their soft skills and take on leadership roles. Specifically, to conclude the program, interns will each be given the opportunity to showcase what they've learned over the term during their final presentations. There will be formal and informal opportunities such as this throughout the term, which will help prepare students for their professional careers.

 

This position is not committed for specific term and runs as a year-round program, with the opportunity to extend into externship work as applicable.

 

·        Complete department tasks under the direction of an assigned supervisor.

·        Assist with job planning/scheduling and implement through Microsoft Project & Procore (training on both programs to be offered).

·        Assist with daily coordination of running jobs (fielding calls related to scheduling, ordering field equipment and tools).

·        Assist with creating metrics to effectively gauge schedule performance, create check-up reports on how work is progressing for a job.

·        Work on other miscellaneous projects, as assigned.

·        Oversee the usage of company vehicles through the companies’ GPS tracking software.

 

·        Proficiency with MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

·        Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

·        Organization and time management skills.

·        Ability to take initiative on projects.

·        Demonstration of professionalism.

·        Well-developed analytical skills.

·        High attention to detail.

 

·        Hold a minimum 3.0 GPA

·        Willingness to relocate for both internship and future full-time opportunities

1. Gain real-world experience in starting up new construction jobs through assisting in job scheduling

2. Gain real-world experience in construction project management with guided learning on Procore and Microsoft Project.

3. Gain real-world experience in managing company equipment.

4. Gain real-world experience in balancing a personal work load and setting priorities to accomplish goals.
