Overview

Excellent entry level opportunity to work in a Corporate HR environment. Will work and train directly with an experienced Payroll Manager to compile and maintain payroll records by performing the following duties. Requires analytical, strong work ethic, customer service skills with the ability to work on their own.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, sales or piecework, taxes, insurance, and withholdings, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records.
  • Prepares computer input forms, enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
  • Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
  • Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
  • Prorates expenses to be debited or credited to each department for cost accounting records.
  • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
  • Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
  • Prepares and issues paychecks.

Bachelor’s Degree; or Highschool degree/GED with 1 to 3 years of experience. Computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Manages competing demands while meeting commitments. Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety. Operates under general direction and exercises guided judgment. Ability to travel, including possible international travel, is required.
