GRADUATE STUDENT - STUDENT ENGINEER - SHELL ECO

Job Summary:

Do you enjoy using innovative science and technology for the benefit of mankind? At Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), we strive for excellence and continuously push the boundaries of what’s possible. The Powertrain Engineering Division at SwRI is seeking a talented and motivated Intern who has participated in the Shell Eco Marathon to assist in vehicle R&D activities. Work on tasks that will allow the student to gain experience in combustion, transmissions, drivelines, electrified powertrains, engine and vehicle testing, powertrain controls and data acquisition. This position is for a summer 2020 internship.

Education/Experience:

Must be pursuing a BS or MS with an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related. Must be approaching Junior or above status. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Participation in the Shell Eco Marathon is required. Familiarity with, or at least demonstrated strong interest, in internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, and vehicle testing and development is required. Must have strong communication skills. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
