Community Health VISTA at ReGenesis Healthcare

Join the ReGenesis Health Care team to help provide accessible, affordable, high quality, and culturally sensitive healthcare to low income residents of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties!
This position is part of the VISTAs in the Piedmont (VIP) program sponsored by United Way of the Piedmont. As a VISTA at ReGenesis Health Care (RHC), you will help implement a Community Health Worker program, which will place professionals in the community to serve as liaisons, provide health education, and ensure services are culturally-competent. You will track overall practice trends through data analysis to help organization prepare for future community health needs. You will facilitate Patient Centered Medical Home re-accreditation process to assist RHC in providing comprehensive health services, health education, and preventative care for low-income residents. You will help ensure data compliance with 16 Uniform Data System (UDS) data measures, which are used to improve performance and operations and track trends over time.
The VIP program offers a unique approach to VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability. The VISTA will work to develop a community health worker program, through research, collaboration with Nursing and Population Health teams, drafting a framework, and developing materials. The VISTA will conduct data analysis to identify areas of growth and challenge by creating, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on management data.  The VISTA will also conduct community outreach to close health disparity gaps.
