Cobham is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to support the design and development of integrated microwave assemblies using linear, non-linear, and EM simulation tools. This includes design optimization through correlating and adjusting the models from measured data. You will coordinate with Mechanical and Digital Engineers in electrical and mechanical design and generating complete drawing packages, including test procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Design RF/Microwave circuits including amplifiers, mixers, switches, filters, and oscillators, through simulation and modeling, and in compliance to the Cobham Design Guidelines.
  • Evaluate specifications and generate test procedures; perform circuit and reliability analysis
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, designers and drafters to produce mechanical design and drawing packages under guidance of the responsible Engineer or Engineering Manager
  • Test, tune, debug and optimize prototype circuits and components to meet specification requirements and manufacturing produce-ability requirements
  • Work with technicians on test, tune, debug and optimization of prototype circuits and components
  • Work with the development team in the scheduling of projects, including circuit design, fixture design and implementation, material procurement and customer interface (design reviews)
  • Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation
  • Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for improvements
  • Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work areas as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) including electromagnetics courses and labs.
  • 0-1 year of engineering experience or an engineering internship/co-op experience.
  • Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings and parts list; ability to create electrical schematic and mechanical drawings; basic knowledge of programming
  • Working knowledge of electronics including power and RF theory; RF/Microwave parameters & test procedures
  • This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security ClearanceBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) including electromagnetics courses and labs
Preferred:
  • Experience with Keysight ADS and/or AWR Microwave Office, HFSS, or similar simulation tools.
  • Active DOD clearance
  • Ability to use Enterprise-wide information systems such as SAP and drawing-viewing programs such CAD or CAE
