Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education is currently accepting applications for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Science, Technology and Policy (STP) Program Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Technologies Office (HFTO).

ORISE is continuing normal program operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This opportunity will be offered as long as Department of Energy Headquarters is able to complete the onboarding process and ensure a meaningful experience to participants. What will I be doing? You will learn and engage in critical aspects of HFTO's mission, such as materials compatibility, liquefaction, pipelines, tube trailers, and technologies used at hydrogen fueling stations, such as compressors, storage vessels, dispensers, and cryopumps. You will increase your skills in technical review of projects, drafting key documents summarizing program strategy and accomplishments, techno economic analysis to inform program target-setting, organization of workshops and conferences to solicit feedback from expert stakeholders, identification of priority areas of research, and giving presentations at technical conferences and events.

Financial Support: You will receive a competitive stipend for living and other expenses during this appointment, based on your academic and professional background. Additional benefits include Health Insurance, relocation expenses (if eligible) up to $5000 and an education allowance of up to $10,000 per appointment year to cover travel-related expenses and professional development activities.
