Submarine Ship Control Systems - Engineer/Scientist

This position is with the Submarine Maneuvering and Control Division, Code 86. The Division supports the Navy in the area of submarine ship control. We are the engineering agent for the Navy responsible for cradle to grave support of submarine maneuvering, hydrodynamics, automatic ship control systems. We are focused on the system design/development, the design of the automatic control algorithms for steering/diving, station keeping, hovering, and test and evaluation of the systems. Modern Submarine ship control systems are Fly-By-Wire systems, and as such are identified by the Navy as a safety critical special emphasis program.

We have tremendous opportunities right now to bring on people to be a part of our ship control community, which includes the ability to be focused on a specific technical area, or experience the breadth of the submarine ship control program. Our division is tasked with stewarding the Navy's technical expertise and acquisition programmatic roles/responsibilities is this critical area. We are looking to bring aboard teammates who could support this critical technical area in the realms of design/development of control algorithms, technical leadership, and programmatic roles. We are looking for entry level and experienced engineers/scientist with background/interests in software engineering, computer systems, mechanical/electrical engineering, and systems engineering.
