[SYSTE01526] Systems Engineer

SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. The right candidate will perform systems design engineering assignments under general supervision, requiring a high degree of technical competency, reflecting current state-of-the-art applications for Directed Energy.
Responsibilities:
  • Full technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects in the design and development of systems hardware and software.
  • Conceives and plans projects involving the assessment of basic architecture and current technical limitations,
  • Definition and selection of new concepts and approaches, design, development and implementation of non-routine major software/hardware engineering applications
  • Analysis and investigation of major engineering project tasks
  • Definition of complex design specifications and parameters
  • Development and application of major routines and utility programs, resolutions of compatibility and interface design considerations
  • Analysis of system architecture requirements and structures 
  • Conducts independent technical investigations in systems design
  • Coordinates and consolidates design efforts on major project(s). Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with identifying, tracking, and validating requirements for technical systems or component technologies
  • Experience with systems engineering for research and development or science and technology organizations
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes, policies, and guidelines
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000 series documentation
  • Ability to identify, trace, define, verify, and validate requirements
Education: BS in STEM discipline
